A Day At The Park, Photo Monday

EDIT: My camera is a Canon S3 IS I usually leave it on P (program). This has a setting for sun, cloudy, and different indoor lighting. I have it on sun for all these photos. The rest of it is auto. I don't do anything special. Sometimes I take my photos into Corel Paintshop Pro and bump up the contrast. I use settings like high pass sharpen and under brightness and contrast there is a setting called clarify. I do an auto pass with the camera noise before I do the high pass sharpen.

These Gopher Tortoises were in heavy battle. Sound like ram's horns hitting when their shells clashed.

This one was eating and not paying a bit of attention to me. Here he is about a foot away.

This is an infant Gopher Tortoise. He was such a cutie!

This female Roseate Skimmer dragonfly was enjoying the sun and keeping her eyes on me.

This is a Green Metallic Bee on a wildflower called Beggar's Tick.

This MEXICAN SPINY-TAILED IGUANA was also enjoying the sun. I'm lucky to have gotten a few photos before he scurried back into his den. These are an introduced species here and a danger to our native wildlife.

He is about 2 feet long.

I cannot find the name of this wildflower.

Lily, one of my favs to photograph.

I can imagine the noise the tortoises were making as they clashed against each other. :)

  12. I enjoyed your "creature photos", Carla and your flowers are lovely. I think the one you don't have a name for looks like Queen Anne's Lace.
