Another bag done.

I met a cousin on facebook a couple of months ago. We haven't seen each other in over 40 years. After looking through my photos she decided she wanted a bag and one to match for her granddaughter. This is what I made. This is the Mini Bow Tucks bag by Penny Sturgis for Quilts Illustrated.

Bag jewelry for gramma's bag.

Bag jewelry for the little one.

Sandra and her husband live in Alabama. They are going to come down New Year's Eve to hear our group play at a private party. I can't wait to see her again.

Here is a diaper bag I did for an ex-neighbor. She loved it. Can you guess she's having a boy? LOL

Swap received

SewMamaSew had a bag swap and you should see the pretty bag I received from Bonnie! We each went to equilter.com and put our favorite fabrics in a wish list. Then the other could choose without fearing to hurt the other's feelings with a fabric they just didn't like.

Please take a look at Bonnie's blog. I also received a chocolate bar, key ring to match the bag and one of her original patterns of a dress to make for my granddaughter.

She put up photos of the bag she sent me. I will not put up my photos of hers yet until she receives it.

I just finished a diaper bag for Anna. Theresa also has a sling she bought in this same fabric.

Photo Monday, Gifts, Give Away

I had forgotten I won a prize and when it came in the mail Saturday I couldn't figure out why I was getting a present. Well, a few weeks ago Vickie at 2 sisters and me had a little contest and I won! Look at what she sent. I forgot to put the cute little heart note pad in the photo. The candy hearts too. See the empty candy wrapper. Mmmm it was good. The little button angel is sitting on the windowsill overlooking the sewing machine.

This is a Goldfinch. When we get them down here they are no longer the beautiful yellow that you see in the North in the summer.

Here is a Giant Swallowtail. She is laying eggs in the orange tree. Soon we will have caterpillars that look like bird droppings LOL

You know it's spring soon when the bees start pollinating the orange blossoms.

Sure wish you could smell this orange blossom. Such a lovely fragance!

Here the bee is on a very tiny wildflower. I hate to mow the yard. I don't like to mow down all that the insects eat from.

One of the little baskets I've been making. It is only a few inches high and about 6 inches long. Pattern is listed in my free patterns under cute basket.

Last but not least. This is my 100th post. I am going to give away 3 things. This bag I just finished is one of them. It is quite large. 18 inches by 13 inches with the pocket you see on the outside and 2 large pockets on the inside. The other 2 gifts will be ready to show hopefully tomorrow.

I will draw 3 names from this post on March 1st.

I'm so excited!

I've been working on this bag for a week. I've torn out all the stitching 3 times. I only had this tiny piece of fabric and didn't want to waste it. This is the first time I've done a set in zipper (with no instructions) and the second time to put in a zipper at all! I re-did that several times. The tote was a special order so I just couldn't give up. My daughter had some corrugated plastic so I made a bottom for the bag also. For a zipper pull, I used part of a black shoestring. If anyone has any of this fabric left I'd sure be interested in buying it. It is called "Bug" by Timeless Treasures and is probably 3 to 5 years old. I can't remember when I bought it. You can see the size of this bag if you look at the musical bag hanging on my daughter's shoulder a couple posts below. It's the same pattern modified.
