Git'er Done

That's what I've been saying for a few weeks. I had a lot of swaps to catch up on and a few baby things to make. My swaps are done. Whew! Now I have yet to finish 2 shirts for hubby and burp cloths and bibs for Anna Grace. Starting to breath a little easier. Can't wait to have time for blogging again.

Here is one of 2 Brown Thrashers from the other day. One was found across the street so we brought it to the back yard to be next to sibling. Parents fed the sibling but ignored this one. An hour later it had disappeared. Poor thing.

My favorite bird. Hummingbird.

This is a pincushion that goes with the bag below. It was a swap to the United Kingdom.

Here is a bag I just finished for my daughter Rhonda. It's called the Professional Bag. Very large, middle zipper pocket plus 5 other pockets inside and 5 pockets outside. I've never broken so many needles on one project before. It's about 14 inches tall and 18 inches wide.

These are 4 coasters and some brown and pink fabric for a make a wish swap.

New fur babies

My daughter Rhonda and sil Gil went to the humane society a couple of days ago and came home with 2 new babies! Boris is a couple of years old and I just couldn't get a good pic of him. He is a beautiful calico. I thought only females were calico but no. Then they got the cutest baby! I love this one. His name is Bernie but Rhonda is searching for a new name. He wakes them up sucking on their nose!
Here is the Bernie baby.

Doing a little checking right now and find while male calico's are rare they do occur. The color gene for calico's occur on the X gene, XXY males exist and can be calico.

Photo Monday

Where does the time go? I used to have such fun sitting here adding photos. Now it seems I have no time at all. I'm really sorry about not getting to your blogs lately. Hope it calms down soon!

This is a moth. It's called White-tipped Black - Hodges#6616 (Melanchroia chephise). The caterpillar is known as Snowbush Spanworm. I do hope you enlarge the photo so you can see the bee flying above the moth.

Isn't this a beautiful flower? It smells so wonderful! It's called a passion vine.

This is my daughter Rhonda and son-in-law Gil.

Dirty Mouth?.....

Dirty Mouth?

Clean It Up!

My daughter makes me laugh all the time. Some of you might not know this is a commercial on TV for a chewing gum.

We went to the beach today to see how Hurricane Gustav was affecting the waves. Sure was wild. Here are a couple of photos.

Wind, Rain, Singing and Sewing

Tropical storm Fay went through. It didn't do much here but we are still getting a lot of wind and rain from the outer bands. There have been some beautiful sunsets as you can see from the photo on the side.

My daughter Rhonda and son-in-law Gil run a DJ and Karaoke business. I love to go sing. For the year we were up in Georgia I only sang twice. Since we've been back, not quite 2 weeks, we've been out almost every night. This old gal is pooped. I love taking pics, especially of the lights so here are a few photos. The first one is Rhonda and Gil. It was disco night.

Gil had just gotten done singing "King Tut". Everyone loved wearing this hat. LOL Here is one of the gals that was having fun.

This is my hubby of 26 years. It was Mike's 58th birthday.

And here is one photo of their lights. Isn't it pretty?

I almost forgot to say something about sewing! I'm in several swaps right now and finally getting to my machine to start sewing. One is Viv's Halloween Ball swap. One is Helen's Stitcher's Angel and one is a Rag Doll swap on FOCD.
