Button, button, who's got the button? Lot's of B&W!

I decided to organize my buttons. Heaven only knows why I have so many and what I'm going to do with them. They are all in plastic bags now, most sorted by color. I managed to get 3 plastic shoe box bins down to one of the larger ones. Pinky sure wanted to play with them. But wait! I still have more scattered in all my bins that are not unpacked yet. *groan*

I joined a B&W and one other color quilt challenge, button over there >>>> on side. I didn't have too many b&w fabrics so I ordered from Jane. Great, fast service! Great variety. This is what I had. This pretty yellow is my other color:

This is what I got from Jane:

They are all washed now and hanging on the line to dry. Going to be a lot of ironing pretty soon. Can't wait to get started on my project. I'm not a quilter. The sewing together will be fine but as far as quilting it...don't know, might have to take it out to let pay someone else do it.

Will have to wait and see what you do with the yellow and black. Buttons, I like to fish around in a bucket for my buttons and then end up having to spill them all out because the one that I want keeps getting away.

I just love buttons! We have sooo many buttons, but sounds like you have lots more! The fabrics are nice, but I'm not a quilter either so it would definitely be a huge challenge for me! Paying someone to do the quilting sounds like a great idea!

Carla, You "sleigh" me! I laugh every time I come to your blog for my Florida fix. Remember when Gene Kelly and Fred Astair made the That's Entertainment movies! I thought he was so handsome. Of course we didn't know he was short and bald! Thank goodness for the magic of Hollywood! Have a great day sorting buttons! E

It took me a full day or so to organize all my buttons. But it was kinda fun too. I am making a purse right now and it is black and white and yellow. Nice to see someone with the same taste as me.

Carla, Carla, Carla, A hing just for you! The first heart begins with "A" one of the last hearts begins with "T". I will put you in for the drawing! I love to torture people to play games with me, especially my son! I got my book on the mermaids that I posted a picture of. It is so wonderful! You really could publish a book of all the wonderful Florida Christmas "decorations". Got to love your state! Check tomorrow to see if you win. E

Oh, that black, white, and yellow will be so pretty. I don't have a machine to quilt with so I have to hand quilt mine the old fashioned way. However you decide to finish it I think it will be beautiful.

It is funny how we collect things. I have tons of beads all mixed up ofcourse lol! I dread to try sorting them out as I know I will end up with boxes of if and I wouldn't have any space to put that many boxes, so they stay where they are lol!
Your snow girl and baby are adorable.

Hey Carla-
Do you always pre-wash your fabrics? Even if they're 5" squares?
I hear some people don't always pre-wash their fabrics. Some do and some don't. Whats the secret or whats your take on that?

I'm not a quilter per se so I'm not sure what others do. I figure if something is going to be or might be washed later, then I pre-wash all my fabrics. I wouldn't want what I made to shrink just because I skipped that step. Otherwise, I don't pre-wash.
