A Day At The Park, Photo Monday

EDIT: My camera is a Canon S3 IS I usually leave it on P (program). This has a setting for sun, cloudy, and different indoor lighting. I have it on sun for all these photos. The rest of it is auto. I don't do anything special. Sometimes I take my photos into Corel Paintshop Pro and bump up the contrast. I use settings like high pass sharpen and under brightness and contrast there is a setting called clarify. I do an auto pass with the camera noise before I do the high pass sharpen.

These Gopher Tortoises were in heavy battle. Sound like ram's horns hitting when their shells clashed.

This one was eating and not paying a bit of attention to me. Here he is about a foot away.

This is an infant Gopher Tortoise. He was such a cutie!

This female Roseate Skimmer dragonfly was enjoying the sun and keeping her eyes on me.

This is a Green Metallic Bee on a wildflower called Beggar's Tick.

This MEXICAN SPINY-TAILED IGUANA was also enjoying the sun. I'm lucky to have gotten a few photos before he scurried back into his den. These are an introduced species here and a danger to our native wildlife.

He is about 2 feet long.

I cannot find the name of this wildflower.

Lily, one of my favs to photograph.

Carla,

I see you had fun at the park taking all those wonderful photos! :)
I can imagine the noise the tortoises were making as they clashed against each other. :)
Love the baby one. So cute.

Would you consider posting an entry on the kind of camera you use, setting, and general tips on taking photos?

Beautiful pictures! If you look at the dragonfly closely- it almost looks like it's smiling at you (I spy a face).
Hugs!!

Fabulous photos, Carla! I think I love the Iguana ones best of all. He seems very proud in the first one of him. :)

I enjoyed your "creature photos", Carla and your flowers are lovely. I think the one you don't have a name for looks like Queen Anne's Lace.
