Dedicated to my Mom

Photo Monday is on hold today. This is the 3rd anniversary of Mom's passing. Her birthday is St. Patrick's day. She died just a couple weeks before she turned 80. She wanted to be 80 so bad but it just wasn't meant to be. So here are a few pics of Mom.

This was taken in 1946. She was 20.
Mom

This one was taken in August before she died. My daughter Rhonda and I had went up to Illinois for 6 weeks to take care of her when she came out of hospital. She was being her silly self.
Silly Mom

And this last photo used to be my header. On the left is her and Dad's wedding day and on the right Mom about 23.

Mama by Il Divo

Mama thank you for who I am
Thank you for all the things I'm not
Forgive me for the words unsaid
For the times I forgot
Mama remember all my life
You showed me love,you sacrificed
Think of those young and early days
How I've changed
Along the way (along the way)
Bridge:
And I know you believed
And I know you had dreams
And I'm sorry it took all this time to see
That I am where I am because of your truth
And I miss you , I miss you
Mama forgive the times you cried
Forgive me for not making right
All of the storms I may have caused
And I've been wrong
Dry your eyes (dry your eyes)
Bridge
Mama I hope this makes you smile
I hope you're happy with my life
At peace with every choice I made
How I've changed Along the way
And I know you believed in all of my dreams
And I owe it all to you ,mama

It was 11 years ago in February that my Mom died. She was only 73....
Seeing your Mom in her fun fur, I would venture a guess that they had some similar traits in the sense of humour department....
How I wish I could just pick up the phone and call her....

sending you hugs on this day...

Ahhh a day of memories for you. I love the photo of her in the hospital! So cute.

I still am taken aback every time I realize how many years my mom has been gone She died at age 59 of breast cancer...wow, 1985 so 23 years ago... how can that be?

My Mom made us promise not to do stuff like this... but oh! how I wish she hadn't. It will be 2 years tomorrow that she's been gone, and I miss her more now then when she went. Your Mom looks like the kind of lady I would like to hug... would she have liked that?

Carla,

Your tribute to your mom made my eyes tear up. My mom didn't make it to 80 either. She passed in January of 2007 , 7 months short of her birthday in August. :(
Your mom looked like a fun lady.

Hugs
