Transformation to cocoon complete

I tell you, I am just so fascinated with the metamorphosis that these creatures go through. Could you imagine if we had to do this? Get born, eat almost 24/7, and live a couple of weeks only to turn our bodies inside out, shrink and cocoon to turn into an adult. This little guy will now undergo a journey that we only wonder about. Or I do anyway. How does this caterpillar turn into such a large, beautiful butterfly inside this small casing which is now an inch and a half?

Here are 3 more of my Dotee dolls. I now have 3 for a swap on Doll Journal and the one with the name is for someone who said they would really like to have one.

He got into his cocoon quite quickly and what a marvellous job he has done of it. Well camoflaged too! I wonder how long he will stay in there?

Your Dotee dolls are so cute, Carla! Lucky recipients!

I love your cacoon/butterfly pictures. I commented on one a couple of months ago about my heart transplant. I'm staying tuned to see this morph into the beautiful butterfly.

Blessings, Christine

Carla, I have really enjoyed these amazing photos of the soon to be butterfly. Great work- you are very good with a camera and find the most interesting things to photograph.

Love your welcome sign in your header. Is that sign you made for your home? Those flip flops are too cute.

I love your Dotee dolls too, hmmm i may have to make a few myself, is there a certain idea to follow? I am enjoying the butterfly adventure, I can't believe how well disguise the cacoon is, looks like it is just part of the branch.
